What this tool checks

This tool scans all links on your page and evaluates their quality and validity. It checks for links that return 4xx errors (broken), links that redirect (potentially wasting link equity), links to HTTP pages from an HTTPS site, links with non-descriptive anchor text like 'click here' or 'read more', and excessive outbound links that may dilute your page's link authority.

Why it matters

Broken links create a poor user experience — visitors hit dead ends and leave. From an SEO perspective, broken internal links prevent search engines from discovering and crawling all your pages. Broken outbound links signal to Google that you're not maintaining your content. A healthy link profile is a continuous maintenance task for any site.

Common issues we find

  • Internal links pointing to deleted or renamed pages (returning 404)
  • External links to partner or resource sites that have since gone offline
  • Links using HTTP when the destination only serves HTTPS (causing unnecessary redirects)
  • Non-descriptive anchor text ('click here', 'here', 'read more') providing no context
  • Too many outbound links on a single page, diluting trust signals
