What this tool checks

This tool checks all Twitter Card meta tags on your page: twitter:card type (summary vs summary_large_image), twitter:title, twitter:description, twitter:image, and twitter:site. It validates that required fields for your chosen card type are present, checks image dimensions and HTTPS usage, and verifies that your card type matches your content.

Why it matters

Twitter/X Card tags control how your content looks when shared on the platform. Without them, your links show up as plain text — easy to scroll past. With a summary_large_image card, your link gets a full-width image preview that stands out in the feed. Getting your Twitter Cards right is a high-leverage, one-time setup task.

Common issues we find

• Missing twitter:card meta tag — the most important tag, controls which card type renders
• Using summary card type when summary_large_image would show a full banner image
• twitter:image loading over HTTP instead of HTTPS, blocked by Twitter
• twitter:description missing or identical to og:description without social optimization
• twitter:site not set, missing the opportunity to link content to your brand account
